You can check your status at dvprogram.state.gov.

If you have signed up for the 2022 “diverse immigrant visa lottery” program, you can check your status starting at noon (EDT) May 8, 2021.

If you have signed up for the 2021 “diverse immigrant visa lottery” program, you can check your status from now until September 30, 2021.

Who can sign up for the “diverse immigrant visa lottery” program?

You must finish high school and have a certificate equivalent to a high school diploma. Or you must demonstrate two years of work experience in a job that requires at least two years of training or experience.

Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, The United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories and Vietnam. Is there a way to match the application requirement if I come from one of the countries listed above?

If you were not born in a qualifying country, there are two ways to meet the application requirements:

First, if your husband/wife was born in a country where the people are considered eligible, you can ask for the country where your spouse was born for a “diversified visa” and give both entered the United States at the same time.

Second, you were born in an ineligible country, but your parents were not born or were not legal residents there at the time of your birth.
